Alumni applying to UAM for their result certificate are advised that the following process is currently in place at UAM.
Then for certificate, the following are followed:
- Pay N5,000 naira at UAM Bursary department and obtain a payment receipt
- Obtain and fill a clearance form from the Academic Office (If you still have the last one you completed at UAM, this may not be necessary)
- Have your clearance form signed at the Sports Office, Bursary, Department and College
- The last point for clearance is the office of Dean of Student Affairs, who would normally request to see your UAM ID card (or sworn affidavit, if you have lost your ID card) before signing your form
- Proceed to Academic Office, where the Academic Officer will sign and issue your certificate to you. At this point, your ID card will be retrieved from you.
Note the following:
- Alumni are advised to get someone in Makurdi to confirm that their certificates are ready for collection before making the journey down to Makurdi
- Also, get someone in Makurdi to confirm that your name is printed on certificate as it should be, e.g. it should Abiola Bashiru Chukwudi and not Abiola Chukwudi Bashiru
- From experience the whole process takes between 1 to 2 days provided all officers are available to sign your clearance form, you are not indebted to the University in any way and the certificates are ready for collection
- Please avoid busy period, such as students’ registration periods, when applying for certificates
